Veritas APS have wide ranging expertise in the CVIT field. Prior to the sale of its Financial Services Business to Travelex Steve spent five years operating in overseas territories providing the security & operational expertise in established Distribution Centres to ensure the safe vaulting and movement of currencies and high value items.
As part of a major projects team to establish a global presence Steve designed and project managed the installation of both physical and electronic security as well as developing and implementing specific operating procedures for 12 new distribution centres in Africa, Asia and South America. Once the global estate was established it consisted of 25 distribution centres around the world and Steve audited the centres on a regular basis to ensure standards were maintained and new and emerging threats were evaluated and appropriate control measures introduced. This work provided valuable experience not only in the global secure storage and distribution of cash but also of operating in overseas locations and dealing with diverse political and cultural challenges.
In recent years Steve has undertaken a full audit of the CVIT operation of a large bank in the middle-east, providing recommendations to improve security in both the transportation and storage of banknotes.
Most recently Steve has provided a full implementation & fulfilment plan to an Eastern European Company to establish a full CVIT service in that country, the plan included:
- Preparation for transition from internal bank CViT to outsource ( legal field, steps of transition, business logics)
- Standard operational procedures for CViT
- Logistical procedures
- Preparation and help in implementation of minimal required standards for companies providing CViT services (close or equivalent to European standards including requirements for the personnel, vehicles and facilities involved in this process)
- Development of procedures for use of all the transport options available for CViT (road transport, railroad and air delivery)
- Consulting in organisation of division / company responsible for CViT services
- Instructional process for the employees (selection of the personnel, initial courses, on duty training and evaluation criteria)
- Help with selection of trusted suppliers for specific equipment and sensitive items
